Bi-State Development / Metro Urban Design & Economic Development
Client: Bi-State Development (Metro) Category: Community Planning, Economic Development, Urban Design
PGAV has completed several projects for Bi-State Development (Metro) over the past five years. As an on-call consulting firm for the public transportation organization, PGAV has been engaged for several planning and design projects, from bus stop renderings, to economic development, to the design of the Metro Store in Downtown St. Louis.
Bi-State Development engaged PGAV’s graphic designers, landscape architects, and urban planners to help them visualize new concepts for MetroBus stops around the service area. This task was a component of Bi-State’s “Metro Reimagined” initiative which focused on overhauling the bus service in the St. Louis region through improvements to efficiency and service. The initiative had daily implications for area residents who depend on public transit by considering improvements to bus stops such as shelters, information kiosks, and improved signage.
Most recently, PGAV assisted the organization with area planning around the North Hanley MetroLink Station and Park & Ride lot. This work included concept level design work to depict a significant transit-oriented development adjacent to the MetroLink Station.
